2025 Carving Show
The Annual Central Coast Wood Carvers Chapter #7 Carving Show was held in Cambria on the 20th and 21st of September at the Cambria Vet's Hall. We thank the Vet's Hall for allowing us to present our show there every year on the third weekend of September.
There were over 600 people who attended the event. Two whittling contests were held. About 25 tables were used by local and regional carvers to show and/or sell their work. Fifteen participants submitted carvings or wood burning for the "Best of Show" competition. There were 25 items donated by club carvers for the raffle. Every part of our show was a success. Those who attended could purchase raffle tickets in order to have a chance to win one of the raffle items. With a purchase of 20 or more raffle tickets attendees had the opportunity to select a free carved item from the give-aways.
The first whittling was held on Saturday. The whittlers were each given two blocks of wood and assigned to carve a syringe that had a working plunger. They had two hours to complete the task.
Vivian Foronjy won third place, Scot Lang won second place and Darrell Easter won first place.

The second whittling contest was held on Sunday for "The Best of the Best", in which those won had won or placed in previous whittling contests at our annual carving shows. This time they were given a large paint stick and were ask to carved a Allen Wrench set. They were given only one hour to complete the task.
Susan Schroll won third place, Wally Inefell won second place and Scot Lang won first place.

The "Best of Show" contest was announced at the end of the second day. Best of Show is selected by attendees who cast their ballots for one winner. A ballot was given to each attendee who paid the entrance fee of $2.
Dean Williams won third place, Dick Marshall won second place, and Eric Westbrook won first place.

Congratulations to all of our winners, and thanks to all of those who participated or attended the show. Here is a link to some photos from the show.
